Hidden Gems
Privacy

Your location should help you explore—not become a movement history.

This policy explains what Hidden Gems collects, why it is needed and the choices available to you.

Effective 21 July 2026

Who operates Hidden Gems

Hidden Gems is operated by White Eagles Digital Marketing LTD, company number 14978662, at The Spaceworks, Flat 7, Plumbers Row, London, England, E1 1AG. Privacy questions and rights requests can be sent to white.eagles.dm@gmail.com.

Information we process

Location

Giving location permission is optional. While the app is open, current device location may be used on the device to sort nearby places and show your position. Hidden Gems does not automatically store a history of your movements. Exact coordinates leave the device only when you deliberately add them to a place contribution.

Why we use information

We process information to provide and secure accounts, show and moderate places, operate community features, prevent abuse, respond to reports and understand whether core product features work. The final legal bases for users in the EEA and UK are documented by the operator before public launch and may include performance of the service contract, legitimate interests, consent and legal obligations.

Service providers and disclosures

Supabase provides authentication, database and private media storage on our behalf. Device map and sharing services process actions that you initiate under their own terms. We do not sell personal data, use it for cross-app advertising or provide it to data brokers.

Photos and sensitive places

Contributors must own or have permission to publish their photos. Hidden Gems may hide or approximate coordinates when a place, person, community or habitat could be put at risk. Temporary signed links protect contribution media from unrestricted direct access.

Retention and deletion

Account and contribution data is kept while the account is active and only as long as needed for the purposes above. Deleting an account removes its profile, contributions, media and associated community activity from the live service. Limited de-identified security or analytics records and protected backups may remain for a restricted period where necessary for security, legal obligations or disaster recovery.

Your choices and rights

You can refuse or withdraw location access in device settings and delete your account in the app. Depending on where you live, you may also request access, correction, export, restriction, objection or deletion. Use the account deletion page or contact us.

Children

The pilot is intended for people aged 16 and over and is not directed to children. Do not submit another person's personal information or identifiable imagery without the required permission.

Security and changes

We use access controls, private media storage and encrypted network connections, but no service can guarantee absolute security. Material policy changes will be dated here and, where required, communicated in the app.
